Updates

  • Plate still loose (as of last might), and one bolt missing. The public is at risk as a result.

  • Additional bolts have been added to the metal plate on Booth Street. However, this has made the situation worse. The metal plate flexes each time a bust goes over it. As a result one of the bolts has pulled loose a chunk of concrete guttering it is bolted to. There is the danger the plate will be dislodged with chunks of concrete attached. A block of concrete weighing several kilograms may be flung onto a pedestrian with enough force to kill them, or jam the steering of a bus, causing it to crash into those at the adjacent bus stop.
